So far, I believe Entrecard has done a heck of a lot to promote traffic to my blog. I've definitely gained some new readers. Has it been great for business? I don't think so, not really, although I've gotten at least one sale from my new readers. Still, I like it when people read and comment on my blog and I have made some great new friends this way.
Entrecard is apparently not terribly well-run. Recently they've started allowing people to sell things for credits, and now they're going to allow third-party advertising to take up space on my blog (originally they weren't going to let me say no to specific advertisers! but they've changed this policy). In general, I don't like where they're going, and as one friend said, "I don't want to pimp out my blog." I'm staying for now, but I'm not sure for how long. Apparently today.com has banned them entirely. Yikes.
To my today.com friends, and other friends leaving Entrecard for the reasons above, if you enjoy my blog and I've spent some time around yours (I have SO many favorites that I visit on a nearly daily basis and thoroughly enjoy reading), I'd really like to keep in touch. Drop me a line here and I will definitely follow and/or subscribe if I'm not already. Maybe at some point we can set up a blog ring so we can keep making the rounds. I think I'm following most of your blogs already, so that's one way to keep tabs. I'll pull my "follow me" box closer to the top of the page here, or you can subscribe via RSS and I'll do the same. I check my Bloglines blogs daily and I recommend them. There are definitely other ways to keep an eye out for blogs you enjoy.
If you're not following me already, I'm also on Twitter and usually post updates to my blog there. Well, I forget a lot, but I'll try to be better.
I'll miss you most of all, scarecrow! (geez, I'm getting all sentimental!)
Have a great April everyone. April Fool's Day is over so I can say that totally seriously now :)

I'm a little worried about this new entrecard policy. If they start putting ads on my blog I don't approve of, I'm leaving.
I've enjoyed your blog and would definately come back though:)
Entrecard has introduced me to so many awesome blogs!! don't want ads on my blog either that I don't pick!
Hey All,
We've built in plenty of features that ads won't run on your blog if you don't like them...
And Today.com just made an announcement yesterday that members can keep Entrecard.
We take members' feedback very seriously, and although we are quite a controversial service, we always try to do what's best for you while doing what's necessary to stay operational.
Wow Graham commented on your post about Entrecard, good to see they read our blogs. I thank you for turning me on to Entrecard and I too am staying for now since I love finding all these great new blogs to read. Sometimes I spend so much time reading and dropping and then POOF it's then end of the day!
Huh. Interesting :)
Thanks for the feedback Graham. Thus far I have really enjoyed the service. Glad my today.com buddies can stay.
I'm following and will continue to drop away.

Entrecard is a great way to find new blogs you love and to get your blog out there for others to find too. A lot of what Entrecard is changing is kind of sketchy to me too. My today.com blog is leaving Entrecard per the rules imposed but I am trying to use it to build up my other 2 new blogs as well.

New advertising? So is that why I went from MAYBE 1 new ad request per day to just today alone having almost 15?? I don't know where they came from, but I know my blog traffic hasn't increased THAT much. Well I'm gonna stick with entrecard unless it gets to a point where it isn't beneficial to me anymore. It's definitely helped my blog traffic tremendously! :)
I just found out about the new entrecard policy this weekend. Because of it, I too may be leaving Entrecard.
But did you know you can turn off the advertising? On the dashboard, click on Advert Settings, then click the following: Allow paid ads only if explicitly approved by you.
No more paid ads!
I know what you mean...I went to my dashboard & saw all these approve/reject spots under the paid for ads...more than half didn't mesh with me...thankfully they let us reject!
Not sure I'll be staying long either. But I am bookmarking all my faves for post entrecard days :)
Now that I've thought about it more, I'm not so sure I'm going to stay much longer either. First off, If we're allowing these ads on our blogs....what are we getting out of it? They're paying for these ads, and we're not getting anything for allowing them to be shown on our blogs.
Also, I went to my blog and noticed that one of the paid ads was up...even though it should have been one of the regular entrecard adverts I had approved. Why are they getting preference over something I approved a week before the paid ad? Is this happening with MY entrecard advert on someone else's blog? Am I basically wasting my credits "paying" for an ad if it's just not going to show up during the time I paid for? Entrecard is now proving itself to be useless and I may be dropping it soon.
